Locks are closely related to our daily life. Improper installation or use of locks will have a certain impact on our life. The general knowledge of lock installation and maintenance is as follows:

1、 Installation of lock

1. An experienced carpenter or a master with considerable knowledge of locks shall be employed for installation. The holes shall be drilled according to the distance template in the product manual, and the supporting sockets, locking plates and locking box holes shall be chiseled to prepare for installation.

2. Check whether the drilled holes are correct and strictly follow the steps in the product installation manual. If the lock switch is found inflexible or cannot be opened after installation, the locksmith shall be consulted in time. The technical service department and after-sales service department of the distributor or manufacturer of the product to solve the problem.

3. If there is no problem in the product installation and inspection, remove the product, and reinstall the lock after the door is painted and dried (it is recommended that it should be more than two or three days). The purpose is:

Avoid the paint sticking to the lock products, which will affect the appearance and performance (the transmission is often inflexible after the paint sticks to the lock)

When the paint is not completely dry, the chemical gas will corrode the product, accelerate the change of product surface treatment, affect the appearance and reduce the service life of the lock.

2、 Use and maintenance of locks

During the use of locks, attention shall be paid to their maintenance.

1. Always keep lubricant at the transmission part of the lock body to keep its transmission smooth and prolong its service life. It is recommended to check once half a year or once a year, and check whether the fastening screws are loose to ensure the fastening.

2. During the use of the lock head, a small amount of graphite powder or pencil powder can be smeared into the slot of the lock core to ensure that the key can be inserted and pulled smoothly at regular intervals (half a year or one year) or when the key is not inserted and pulled smoothly. However, it is prohibited to add any other oil for lubrication, so as to avoid the grease sticking to the spring, which will lead to the lock being unable to rotate and open.

3. Regularly check the fit clearance between the lock body and the buckle plate, whether the height of the lock tongue and the buckle plate hole is appropriate, and the best fit clearance between the door and the door frame is 1.5mm-2.5mm. If any change is found, adjust the position of the upper door hinge or lock plate. At the same time, pay attention to the cold contraction and heat expansion caused by the weather (wet in spring, dry in winter) to ensure that the gaps between the door and the door frame, the lock body and the locking plate are reasonable, so as to ensure the smooth use of the lock.
